CONTEXT PRACTICAL: WHARF CHAMBERS

Wharf Chambers is a bar and multi-use venue in the centre of Leeds run by a workers co-op in partnership with a members club. 'We aim to provide an inclusive and affordable space for music, art, film, politics and discussion that brings together people from communities across Leeds.'

The club has an events room available to members with 24 channel PA, cinema equipment, chairs to seat about 40 people and lots of folding tables. The capacity of the events room is around 180 standing or 80 seated. For fire safety reasons the capacity of the whole ground floor is 250 people.

We have a small kitchen area and tea and coffee making facilities.

There is a beer garden to the rear of the building and on street parking after 10pm.

The main bar room is not available to hire privately as it must be accessible to our members during our advertised opening hours.

Unfortunately the venue wasn't available for the dates I needed it and the people attending the event would have to buy  a £1 membership before entering the event which may have caused some difficulty in the smoothness of the event. After visiting the space it did seem quite fun and quirky but I will have to re-consider another venue.
